But sadly still no pictures!
We have been rockin' it with our furniture-putting-together-ness. Actually, I should say Jas has done the large majority of it...and he's done a great job! I DO have pictures, but they will come as soon as we get internet :)
In other news, we started learning Slovak tonight and it was AWESOME! We are in a class with 6 other people. The teacher is amazing and very disciplined. We hope to learn much!
More to come later. Thanks for the encouragement and prayers!

Home Sweet Home!
We've made it to our new home! We do not yet have internet, but likely will within the next week or so...but don't worry, we'll be updating as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we are knocking things out (thankfully with lots of help!). Now we're getting ready to hook up our apartment with some needed items.
Thanks for the prayers! We'll be getting in touch soon :)
Much love!

93 + 1
Thursday night we got together with our adopted "grandpa" Elton to celebrate his 93rd birthday. This guy is awesome.
He loves the Lord, is hilarious, strong-willed, a giver, and just a genuine man. We have really enjoyed spending time with him.
Take a look at some of the action from his 93rd birthday...
Another one of Marianne's delicious creations.
And my camera started acting a little funky at this point (remember it's been a while since I've really put it to use like normal.) Let's just say I was overjoyed to get back to it...
We'll miss that guy, along with all our other grandparents (and family!).
Speaking of...in ONE DAY we leave! Tomorrow, tomorrow! We still have to do last minute packing (you know, all that final stuff), and then we'll be on our way to the airport. Slovakia, here we come :)

Sunday, Sunday
You know that oldies song that goes "Monday, monday..." Yeah, that came to mind for this here post title...don't ask me why.
Moving on.
We leave for Slovakia in FIVE days! On Sunday! Oh man, oh man, oh man.
There's a ton to be done the rest of this week. We have papers to get stamped, appointments to attend, repacking to do, laundry to wash, family to hang out with, hugs to be given, and then a plane to board. Whew!
But we know that in the midst of all the "to-do," God has already done a ton. He's our strength. Thank goodness!
And both Jas and I have one line memorized perfectly in Slovak (or at least we think). That line is..."I am trying to learn Slovak."
Don't you think that'll come in handy? :)

Day in D.C.
A few days ago we went for a day trip to Washington, D.C. We broke up in to groups and Jas and I got to spend some quality time in the big city with our new friends, the Peercy's.
We started at Union Station. From there we hit up the metro (a lot!), then went to both the Slovak and Peruvian Embassies (where we got to talk to some Slovaks and Peruvians). We ate at an amazing Latino restaurant for lunch (and yes, we indulged in some deliciously crispy chips...yum). Amongst all our walking and metro riding we even had time for some sight-seeing...
Union Station
Beautiful blooms...spring is in the air.
Jas and Steven eating their pollo saltado
Kattie and I!
Their sweet baby, Evelyn. She's precious.
As you can see, I am the stronger of the two of us. Thank you, thank you very much :) And if you look closely, there's the beginning of the baby bump...small though it may be, we're in the second trimester now!
Yay for a good, sunny day...out in the city.

A Sweet Surprise!
Yesterday I had plans to meet up with my good friend Steph. You see, her husband is in marine training here in Virginia, so we had plans to catch up over breakfast.
Well, I walked in to the restaurant to meet her, gave her a hug, and then sat down. We proceeded to talk, ordered drinks, etc...
The lady brought our drinks.
And right behind them were my other two sweet friends (and previous roommates) Erin and Emily. I had no idea they were going to drive up so we could all meet together one last time before I leave. It was an AWESOME surprise!
It made my day :)
We ate, then came back and they got "the tour." Then we said bye to Steph as she left, and headed for coffee.
It was very special, and I am thankful for those girls.
Of course, we did forget to take a picture (after much mention of it), so I'll bust an old one out for memory's sake...
Christmas freshman year, good times :)

Oh, spring...
It's about that time. It's almost spring!
And since things are looking a little gray around here (aka, we need some color and pics on this here blog), I decided to hit our photography archives in search of some much-needed spring color...
How about some of my favs from previous springs?
Ah, I feel better already :)

Less than a month!
That's right...in less than a month we leave for Slovakia! I guess you could say we're pretty excited ;) No, make that really excited.
And well, I finally got around to downloading some pictures on the computer. I still can't believe I've taken so few pictures lately, but here are a few random ones from the last little while...
See, I told ya it was random. Hopefully there will be more consistent posts to come later this month!
