Bring on the CHOCOLATE SYRUP!

Tonight was the annual end-o-year MUCK WARS!  This is a super fun, let's get everyone dirty, throw condiments on one another kind of time for the youth.  I thoroughly enjoy watching everyone get all messed up!  It's great fun! (And should I mention it doesn't bother me so much being behind the camera ;)

Here are some highlights-- (bear with me on the many photos!)

We started the night with some watermelon...and some goofy faces!!

Exhibit A:  Dillon covered in his own flour!  And Carly applying some mustard to top it off...yum...

The Aftermath.  And what's left of the sticky syrup amo.

Some condiments, oh yeah, and Noelle's under there somewhere ;)

MESSY GROUP SHOT!

Jump it, Kels Lou!

Ah, nothing like a pair of stinky, wet, post-condiment friends!

Possibly one of my favorite photos of the night.  They make me laugh!

What a fun night...gotta love it!  Muck Wars, Jason and I will miss you.  Think Slovaks could get into some muck-throwing!?  We shall see! :)

The LAST lunch

I have a husband who ROCKS!  He's particularly precious and loving.  One way he shows this is by making my lunch every day.

That's my favorite part of the day!  Reading the note and eating the lunch he prepared for me.

So tonight he put together my last school lunch.  I took two pictures to document this momentous night (am I cheesy!? ok, don't answer ;)

His first emotion--sadness he'll no longer be able to pack my lunches...

But mostly (I don't know if he'll admit it) I think he's relieved and excited to no longer have to pack these daily lunches ;)

But man, I am sure looking forward to that turkey cheese roll up tomorrow!  Thanks, hubby ;)

3.5

I think it is definitely worth a post that tomorrow I embark on a week of lasts!

The last (last) week of school

The last time I will have to take down a classroom

The last time I will have to see certain, disrespectful students

The last time I will get to see certain great, respectful students

The last time I will be known as Carrington's Spanish teacher

The last time I will have to get up at 5:30 am for a good, long while (I hope!)

This brings both sadness and bitter-sweetness (bet ya can't tell I made that word up ;)

But mostly, it brings EXCITEMENT!  However, it has been a good (and challenging!) two years as a middle school teacher.  I have learned a lot about both teaching and myself.  And for that I am thankful!

Now bring on three and a half more days of 5:30 am!

they came!

Remember how I said the hydrangeas would be busting out in glory over Memorial Day weekend?

I was right!!!  These pictures were taken on Memorial Day.

You can find me in a lawn chair parked in front of these beauties for the next few weeks...just sitting and staring ;)

Road Trippin'

This past weekend we got to go on a ROAD TRIP!  We took up and headed off to Savannah, Georgia for a few days to visit our friends.  We met the Lewis' at an IMB conference in January.  They are headed to the Ukraine at the same time we'll be going to Slovakia.  We had an awesome weekend hanging out, checkin' out their town, going to their church (and hearing Ross bring an amazing message), fishing, and just chatting.  Can't wait for more quality time with these two!

We spent a half day on the beach...and it was amazing! Ask me how jealous I am that they live only 30 minutes from the beach!?

Then we enjoyed an evening walking through the River Street/City Market area of Savannah.  It was a neat place.

And of course there was gelato involved.  I had pineapple...and it was fruity deliciousness.

Meet our friends...Ross and Kasey!

And we went "fishing," or "turtling" more like it.  They (the guys) caught at least 3 or 4!  Well, Jas caught most of those ;)

Lookin' good turtling...

And Ross caught the lone brim of the day.  Isn't it HUGE!?

I had to steal a picture with their precious dog Belle.  She's not exactly the "pick-me-up-and-love-on-me" kinda pup, but I loved her anyway!

It was a great weekend.  Can't wait to see these guys again!  And anytime you get the chance to go to Savannah...GO!  It's not really anything like Durham ;)

7.5 days until summer begins!
