Hilarious!

This is how we found her sleeping last night.  Not the greatest picture lighting wise, but hilarious nonetheless.  Oh, Bella, we will miss you!

What's going on...

Today has been one of those relaxed, yet get things done, kind of day.  Ya know what I mean?  Like a take-your-time-doing-chores kind of day :)

So with that, there's been lots of this...

And there's been one, lazy, one of these...

And that's been our Saturday! (so far) :)

Cutie pies

Today I finally got to see Ben and Tera's precious new Golden Retriever, Bailey.

Now, I'm not the biggest animal lover out there, but I do have a soft spot for cute puppies.  So without further adieu, here is BAILEY, the precious pup...

Isn't she adorable?  I think that face is priceless.

And because we just so happen to think that our pup is precious too (even though she is no longer a pup), I thought I'd share a picture of our Lab, Bella...

Sadly you can see the massive amounts of hair she sheds (look closely at the rug)...the vacuum and I have become best buddies...but that's ok, we love her anyway!

Ok, enough puppy lovin'...time to watch 24 (night number 2!)

A look back..and forward..

Well, here it is, the last day of 2009! It's hard to believe the year has gone by so fast. Time really flies... As I'm looking back and reflecting over the past year I'm reminded that in Scripture WE'RE reminded how short and fleeting life is. How important is it to make the most of EVERY day we're blessed to have? I'm challenged by this thought because I don't always make the most of every day. I want to glorify God daily. Do I? These are the things I've been thinking on for the last few days...

In other thoughts, I was looking back over some pictures from 2009 and wanted to share a few fun ones that never made their way onto the blog. So here goes...
Being goofy in Greece--what else is new? :)
Jas, Katka and I--I wanted to take this sweet girl home with me. And take a look at that Slovak smile...
With Elton at the Farmer's Market...his FAVORITE place.
Bella looks a little skeptical in her Jesus shirt..haha.
Love this picture! Ems and I were in the process of getting our picture taken when a bug flew by and I swatted :)
Jas and a shrimp head in Greece.
Fun picture at the movies.
Sharing an apple??? They're strange ;)

It's been a great 2009. Looking forward to seeing what's in store for 2010.

What a Great 2 Years

Two years ago today I began a new journey in life. For you see, the first part of my life was one of darkness. I couldn't really see the great things that God had in store for me. I still remember the day when it all changed. It was as if I came out of a dark tunnel into a bright and glorious light. I have to admit I was really scared. Anything that is new and different usually brings with it both fear and excitement. For me it was more fear. I whimpered like a baby for the longest time due to the fear of this new life I now live. But since this day I have overcome most of this fear though at times I can still see it on the horizon of my life. As I have overcome my fears I have witnessed God do some amazing things with me. I have been used by him to bring joy to those that I am with! For that I am thankful!! Thanks Jason and Charity for taking me in and allowing me to live my first 2 years of life with you!!

I Love You Parents!

Bella or baby?

It's no secret that many people treat their dogs (pets) as children. It's also no secret that we fall into that category. Bella is an amazing dog and very smart. However, she is famous for being a bit (understatement) hyper and overexcited when guests come over. The dog whisperer would have a field day training her in the calming down category. But other than that, and the massive amounts of dog hair I vacuum up daily, Bella is a super duper "child."

We occasionally (I know, I know, and I was complaining about pet hair...) let her on the couch but ONLY when her special blue blanket is there to shield the couch of hair. So last night I let her up on the couch with me while I was relaxing and we snuggled. I then got up to do something else and she didn't budge! I caught her relaxin' in action:

Yeah, she's spoiled.

Photographic Beginnings..

I have always wanted to be a professional photographer. Creativity is something I aspire for daily and along with that comes my secret desires of being a photographer, chef, ballerina..you name it! (I guess they're not so secret now!) No thank you, math and science, right side of the brain I am!

So with that said, Jason and I purchased a digital camera. This is not just any digital camera, this is a sweet digital camera. So sweet that I (or, we, Jason likes trying his hand at it almost as much as I do!) have yet to figure out all its idiosyncrasies. So with out further ado here are our initial attempts at experimenting with our camera. Hopefully, as we develop our photography skills the pictures will improve and delight your eyes :)

Oh, and our camera is a Nikon D3000.

And, our dog is Chinese :)
